Who are MedalMad?

All about what we do and why we do

MedalMad is all about the community. Supporting each other to be the best that we can be. To be active and to benefit from being active. At MedalMad we want to create the platform for people to be inspired and motivated to be active. Offering a range of challenges that help incentivise people to start or stay being active. We also now have MedalKids offering child appropriate challenges. We may be medal mad but our knowledge and experience of how to motivate people is based on may years of experience.

Running From City
Group Of Runners

Our platform provides a range of challenges. We try and offer a range of challenges for all abilities, and most of our challenges can be adapted to meet the challenger's needs. We are always looking to expand our range of challenges to include other activities, and are delighted when a member of our community puts forward a suggestion.

We take a concept for a challenge and create the perfect medal to represent the challenge, it's theme and the effort of the challenger to achieve the medal. This is the incentive but we want to be more than just a shop. We want to expand our platform so people can get the support they need from us and the community.

Where the Profit Goes

Part of the profits from some of the challenges go to a partner charity. We are focusing on small to medium charities and ones that have been nominated by our community. We then work with them to create the medal that is linked to the charity. Our aim is to help raise a few £'s but also help raise awareness for the charity.

Some of the profits go to supporting Active Connections social change projects. Every challenge entered helps us support families from low socio-economic areas learn about the wider benefits of being active through our ActiveDADs and Active Start projects.

In all challenges a proportion of the profit goes to the running of Active Connections and the development of MedalMad.

Medal Mad Ambassadors

MedalMad ambassadors are volunteers who help us to engage, support and motivate our community. They all love running and taking on challenges. Each have their own reasons for why. Find out more below.

Serenity Underhill| Brand Ambassador

Hi all, I'm Serenity and I can honestly say that running has changed my life. After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and BPD, and piling on weight through depression, inactivity and poor diet I was the ultimate couch potato. I was 19 stone and couldn't walk for more than a few minutes without getting out of breath. I chose a Couch to 5km programme and have never looked back!

Now I am 4 stone lighter, no longer on medication and am training for The Great North Run in September 2017!

Neil Bailey| Brand Ambassador

Sed non urna. Donec et ante. Phasellus eu ligula. Vestibulum sit amet purus. Vivamus hendrerit, dolor at aliquet laoreet, mauris turpis porttitor velit, faucibus interdum tellus libero ac justo. Vivamus non quam. In suscipit faucibus urna.

Becky Onion| Brand Ambassador

I have been a runner for around 18 months after completing the couch to 5k program. I have now run in the Great South Run and 3 half marathons. I’ve entered a 4th which is in a few weeks time. For me, running is the easiest way I can exercise that fits around being a Mum to my two young children. I particularly enjoy virtual races as I can do them in my own time and I get a lovely, shiny medal for taking part. I firmly believe that if I can become a runner then anyone can and hope that as a Medal Mad Ambassador I can inspire others in their running journey.
