Run 1500 miles by the end on 2019.
I have been running for 2 years now. 1st year 727 miles ran. Last year I ran 1080 miles and my first marathon. This year I’m super excited to be running London Marathon in April, got a club place in the draw and I want to push my miles to 1500, if that’s possible??? My big challenge for 2019. I have worked out I need an average of 29 miles per week. I always log my miles on Strava and I will be working hard.

  • Yay I’ve done it, challenge completed. 22.5 miles this week, and I have broken 1500 miles for the year, 1513 in total. Took part in my Club Handicap Race yesterday & I came in second, pipped at the post & today took part in a social run which I rounded up to a Half Marathon. I have loved my running this year, smashed out loads of PBs, ran 30 races including 2 marathons, London was amazing. Next year is the year of the Ultras, something I never thought I’d even contemplate. Well done to everyone who has took part in the Now That’s What I Call a Challenge 2019, your all fab!

    Very low mileage week due to my kiddies all being poorly. Only managed 15 miles, taking my total to 1490 miles for the year. 10 miles left to run, I’m really excited to finish this challenge and achieve 1500 for the year. Highlight of the week was a fancy dress Xmas run from Penzance seafront into Mousehole and back to see the lights before the kids were poorly.

    A quieter week of running for me this week, no races, 23.5 miles completed, bringing my total to 1475 miles so far this year, 25 away from my target. Lots of Xmas parties & celebrations took centre stage this week, but I’m hoping to reach my challenge target week next week and then anything else will be bonus miles in the bank 😊

    26.2 miles ran this week, I’m now up to 1451 miles for the year, yikes, only 49 more miles needed! Yesterday I ran my final race for 2019, Fordh Sen Mighal. Absolutely stunning views, but a hard, hilly, muddy slog which ended with a beach section into the finish. Loved it & felt comfortable. I have started filling the calendar for next year already & cant wait, but for now I need to make sure I complete this challenge & I have got some nice Xmas social runs coming up soon 😊

    36 miles completed this week, I had some good runs and I finished off the week today running Race for Wildlife down in Penzance and managed to clock a 7 min course PB. It was cold, sunny and had beautiful views. Just time for tea cake and then a 6 mile training run with my best mate towards her half marathon coming up in February. We had a nice run along the seafront. Feeling happy 😊.

    Just 111 miles left to teach my target. Yep def think I can do it, might even get some bonus miles added. 25.8 miles this week & finished the week today with a 5 mile race called Mob Match, where all the clubs race against each other to Mark the end of the Cornwall Road Grand Prix Series for the year. Ran well and got a 3m 33s course PB, chuffed with that 😊

    Gentle week for me, 25 miles covered altogether, Club runs, solo runs, trail kids and helping friend in week 2 of her half marathon training. My youngest daughter Bobbie collected an award at Trail Kids yesterday, very proud as she doesn’t find it easy. On target for my 1500, getting close now 😊 x

    A recovery week for me following last weekends marathon. 20 miles completed including today’s race, Remembrance Day 2019, an out & back run across Marazion beach, 4.6 miles. Got a 10 minute PB on last year and 4th in my Age Category. Chuffed to bits with that. 163 miles left to run to reach my target 😊

    It was the Cornish Marathon for me on Sunday morning. On an amended out & back route due to flooding, which made a hilly hard course even hillier 😬. It was the wettest & coldest run I have ever done, but I pushed on and finished in a time of 4 37. So chuffed, a Marathon PB of 15 minutes. 35.3 miles altogether this week. On target for 1500 this year. ‏ — feeling happy

    On taper this week & no races. 26 miles still run though, so I can keep my miles up on my challenge. Had a lovely social run this morning around Loe Bar area through Penrose, followed by a visit to the cafe for waffles, my favourite. This time next week, hopefully I would of finished my marathon 😬.

    20 miles training run today, last long run before The Cornish Marathon in 2 weeks time. Luckily I had plenty of company, 10 miles with running friends Caz & Emz, then 6 miles with Carn Runners on a Sunday Social and the last few in my own. Feeling good. Up to 1255 miles so far this year, on target to achieve my goal 1500. Just got to keep running 😊 x

    31 more miles towards my target last week and the highlight of the week was Eden Project Half Marathon yesterday. Very wet, very muddy and very hilly run, 2.13.07 for me, loved it and it was a massive course PB of 23 minutes from last year. ‏ — feeling happy

    32.6 miles ran last week & I ended the week running Cubert 5 race yesterday. Completed it in 43.03, my fastest ever pace in a race to date & got 3m 12s PB, medal & a hoody. Great atmosphere and great race. Also my best friend is back running and she completed her first race in a long long time. Loved it yesterday, we were buzzing all day 😊 x

    36 miles this week, including a 17 mile training run on Friday as I start to prepare for the Cornish Marathon on 2 November. It’s hard & hilly, so it’s gonna be tough, but I’m looking forward to the challenge. A few more long runs required with lots of hills. 😊 x

  • 35 miles covered this week 😊. Today was Truro Half Marathon and I had a really good run & got an 11min 10 sec PB from last year. It’s a very hilly course & I coped well which is good news as I’m going to running the Cornish Marathon on 2 November. Next race is Cubert 5 at the end of the month & for the next few weeks im building miles for the marathon. 😁

    34 miles run this week including the Bude Pirate Multi Terrain Race today which I loved, along with a 13 minute PB from last year. Tough climbs, but great scenery.

    Another 25 mile week this week, as we were away on a family camping trip & I managed to run most days, but short runs only. But I did manage to break into the 1000 miles area for this year so far, so still on target 😊 Best run of the week was when we came home and I managed to go to our local Parkrun at Heartlands and land a PB, 27.18 well chuffed with that 👍
