    A recovery week for me following last weekends marathon. 20 miles completed including today’s race, Remembrance Day 2019, an out & back run across Marazion beach, 4.6 miles. Got a 10 minute PB on last year and 4th in my Age Category. Chuffed to bits with that. 163 miles left to run to reach my target 😊

    0 week again
    I had the day off on Monday to go shopping etc with my wife, so then had a lot to do Tuesday. especially so as I also had Wednesday off work for an all day Tattoo appointment. Similar story on Thursday with loads to do workwise and just no time to get out. Today, arm is a little tender, so wanted to leave it another day or two before I go out running. Hopefully get in a 5k with Kieran over the weekend and can then get back into it next week.

    It was the Cornish Marathon for me on Sunday morning. On an amended out & back route due to flooding, which made a hilly hard course even hillier 😬. It was the wettest & coldest run I have ever done, but I pushed on and finished in a time of 4 37. So chuffed, a Marathon PB of 15 minutes. 35.3 miles altogether this week. On target for 1500 this year. ‏ — feeling happy

    I went to Parkrun on Saturday, my first run since the failed half marathon. I was nervous that I’d really struggle after 3 weeks off but thought I’d be less likely to give up at Parkrun than running alone. And I was right. Finished in just over 33, a minute or so slower than my Pb so happy with that.

    Almost there!! Run 49 yesterday at Aviemore Parkrun. So my 50th will be either 16th or 23rd November. There will of course be a dress up theme as is traditional with us lot. 😀 The theme will be Sci Fi. Got my outfit sorted already. Should be a hoot. 😂

    Contrast to last week, not a whole load of miles, but I managed to get out for 3.3 on Monday and again on Tuesday. Wednesday I pushed it out to a 5.3 then did the exact same route again on Thursday. Trying to decide if I should do the 3 or the 5 for Friday (did want to push it out to a 7 maybe, but was really feeling the four consecutive days in my legs - how do people do run streaks??!!) alas, none of the above. I have Monday off work, so loads to get done and didn’t manage to get out. But after nothing at all last week, I did close out October strongly and finished the month with 61.8 miles (if I had known I was that close to a 2mile per day average I’d have gone to the end of the road and back!!) that actually puts me on exactly 475miles for the year, so just 25 to go until I achieve my target! If only I’d not had the nothing week, I could have pushed it and tried to get over the line with 2 months to spare. Never mind. Pretty confident of finishing before December though!

    On taper this week & no races. 26 miles still run though, so I can keep my miles up on my challenge. Had a lovely social run this morning around Loe Bar area through Penrose, followed by a visit to the cafe for waffles, my favourite. This time next week, hopefully I would of finished my marathon 😬.

    Dress up Parkrun today to celebrate my friend Becks 50th Parkrun. Her daughter picked the theme of superheroes or mythical magical creatures. Was also PJs Parkrun so some of that going on too. That's me at 48 now so only 2 more to go for me!!

    Nothing doing this week. literally.
    Half term, so kids all home, which makes day time running harder to do and they stay up later, so night time running almost impossible.
    poured down all day Monday, wife was ill in bed all day Tuesday and Wednesday, so I was looking after them and working (WFH they said, it is great they said...!) yesterday I was crazily busy and today I just can't be bothered. hope to try and get out over the weekend, then start afresh next week.
    oh, I did sign up for the 2000km challenge with MM though. because that shouldn't be too hard right? (what. on Earth. was I thinking?!!!)

    20 miles training run today, last long run before The Cornish Marathon in 2 weeks time. Luckily I had plenty of company, 10 miles with running friends Caz & Emz, then 6 miles with Carn Runners on a Sunday Social and the last few in my own. Feeling good. Up to 1255 miles so far this year, on target to achieve my goal 1500. Just got to keep running 😊 x

    I am gutted.
    Been to see the osteopath today and I asked him the question I’ve been avoiding which is about whether I should be running with the problems I’m having with my back. He said “In all honesty, I would advise against it”. He said he highly recommends me walking as the motion of that will be far better than running.
    To be fair, I’m not surprised, as every time I step up the running, I either end up with vertigo or my back plays up...
    I know I’m really not very good at it but I enjoy it and enjoy spending time with my rebel friends.
    I didn’t think I’d be as gutted as I am....
    I’ve got one more 5k booked on 3rd November, so I’m going to do that....
    In the meantime I’m going to get a doctors appointment and try to get a consultant referral, as the osteopath thinks I may have some structural damage in my lower spine and I think it’s time I really found out what’s going on.
