    W/e 11/08
    So, I've ruined my challenge What with my gran's 100th birthday and setting up a new parkrun, I completely forgot to do any running! Nothing on Monday as we were spending a quiet day with gran to recover from her birthday and then travelling back. Weds I did go to training (1.83 miles) so that was good. But then Saturday was Event 2 of our new parkrun and consumed my whole morning, though according to my Fitbit I'd walked 2.9 miles in getting there and setting up before 9am! It just wasn't running, and being on the core volunteer team I think it will be a few weeks before I get to run a parkrun again. Then on Sunday, we took our friends' dog for a walk (2.7 miles) before getting caught in a downpour. It rained for the rest of the day so we went to the pub for a Sunday roast (hence I can't go out and run the extra miles now - far too full!). Oh well, I'm back to half marathon training tomorrow (only 8 weeks to Cardiff as i was reminded today!!!) so will continue to aim for my 6 miles a week, hopefully this experience and the sick feeling I now have for mucking up will make sure I keep going for the rest of the year. It was after Cardiff that I stopped running for quite a while last year and I need this challenge to help me this year!

    So first run after 4 months off sick...495km done...another run tomorrow and I'm half way to my goal for the year! Great being back at parkrun

    Getting my log done early as I know there will be no running this week. Volunteering at parkrun tomorrow and then heading up the motorway to celebrate my gran's 100th birthday weekend!

    So what with parkrun prep craziness and birthday prep madness I've only had time to fit one run in - 6.07 miles. Back to it next week when hopefully things return to normal!!

    Had a poor July, Tendonitis in my shoulder then 2 weeks holiday, however ytd is 323 miles so still well on Target!! Here's to a better August!

    Recreational walking - 10.16 (some of this should probably be in commuting, but one day I left work and went in the opposite direction for a medical appt and then walked home from there to complete a triangle, and another day I walked to a more distant shop after work before heading home from there - counted all these miles as recreational).

    Commute walking - 105.5
    Recreational walking - 169.5
