In 2019 I will be challenging myself to run, an average of, 10 miles a day everyday for one year. I plan to complete at least 3650 miles. I say at least because I will be completing some half/full marathons as well.
I want to raise money and awareness for a fantastic charity, that relies solely on charitable contributions, doing great work to help people suffering with Rett syndrome.

Motivating me to re-kickstart my weightloss journey again, I have decided to set myself the challenge of running or walking a minimum of 5k every day, no excuses, to get myself out there and attain 500k

I'm also going to try and make it more interesting for myself by wearing tee-shirts/tops in the brightest colours or with the funniest slogans I can get my paws on.

500k with a fabulous flair! Red-Face and Sweat-Soaked hair guaranteed.

I have started this challenge as a new runner who runs on average 2-3km per run every other day to test my persistence and give me the motivation to continue. I'm hoping that throughout the year my runs will get longer.

I want to test myself, and see what I really am made of.

I look forward to completing the challenge and earning this amazing medal.

I think a little about me is required here... I have stage 4 renal failure, I have already had a successful kidney transplant and this has worked for the last 4 years however is declining in function. Therefore I want to achieve as much as I can before I have to go back on dialysis. I have finally found something I really love doing!

It's funny because I would always see runners and think that looks like a lot of hard work and never think of doing it myself. Then one day I tried and I realised I was right! It is a lot of hard work... But it's a lot of fun!

Every year I go through the same routine. New years day "I'm going to lose weight!", 6 months in "I'll start now" and then December the 1st "oh well it's nearly Christmas I'll start in January". Well this year this challenge is going to change that. I aim to lose on average 1lb a week across the whole year so 52lbs (I'm currently around 14.5 to 15 stones. On top of this and to aid this I'm going to aim to run on average 6.214 miles (10km) a week. (I currently run about 4 if I'm lucky!). This isn't going to be easy but the regular updates I'll post will keep me motivated!

To move a million metres in 2019! This may be by walking or jogging, both in the gym and the great outdoors, cycling (I’ve just got a bike, but need to find some balance!) and using the Watt bike and rower. If I get really brave I might try a kayak or canoe! I’m also hoping to incorporate a big challenge or two into this one - Pen y Fan and Cotswold Way. I only discovered exercise this year, so this is a biggie!

The road to 10k success is paved with medals.

After being the fat kid all my life, 18 months ago I completed a c25k programme.
Unfortunately life got in the way and I didn’t keep it up. Now I’m back, more unfit and fatter than ever but determined to do it.
The plan is to complete c25k in the next 8 weeks and then in April compete 5-10k and by the end of the year have run my first proper 10k race.
I’ve already signed up for my first two medal challenges to get me motivated.

Twenty half marathons before 2020 (so by the end of 2019).

Started back in Sept 2018 when a friend and I both decided to set ourselves big long term goals. As of today (22nd Dec 2018) I am #5down15togo, with another to do before the end of the month, leaving 14 to complete in 2018. Each one is rewarded with a medal (some from here, some are live races and some are from the swaps box at my local running shop), but each tells a little bit of my story.
