500k this year!

Began ‘running’ in Jan 2018 but it was very patchy and stop/start, never consistent. I struggle to find the time to get out and run (5 kids!) unless I have a reason to push me to do so. I need the motivation of a challenge and I want to be more consistent in my running in 2019. When I do manage to get out it helps with my anxiety and obviously fitness. So I have a couple of personal challenges for 2019. To run 500k over the year is my main one but also to start doing parkrun as often as I can. I have been too anxious to go so far but I really want to push myself.

Every year I go through the same routine. New years day "I'm going to lose weight!", 6 months in "I'll start now" and then December the 1st "oh well it's nearly Christmas I'll start in January". Well this year this challenge is going to change that. I aim to lose on average 1lb a week across the whole year so 52lbs (I'm currently around 14.5 to 15 stones. On top of this and to aid this I'm going to aim to run on average 6.214 miles (10km) a week. (I currently run about 4 if I'm lucky!). This isn't going to be easy but the regular updates I'll post will keep me motivated!

I would like to be able to run a marathon, but to do this I need to be more consistent with any sort of training I do! So a challenge for myself is to run a minimum of 10km EVERY WEEK of 2019 to ensure I am remaining consistent and on target to improve my overall fitness and eventually run further!
Last year I would run 3/4 times 1 week then none at all for 2 weeks ??‍♀️

Eventually I will run the marathon for the charity Miles for Mitchie!!

I am aiming to loose weight, not sure how much but I'll know when I get there. I am currently 16st 10lb (6ft) so I think I'm aiming for 14st 10lb and see how I feel when I get there. I will update my challenge when I get to that weight (if needed). I also aim to walk (usually power walking pushing a full large double pushchair) at least 5k a week. I know that doesn't seem much but I rarely do anything over and above my 'normal' working routines so power walking will suit me.
