I’m setting myself a challenge to walk 3,000km in 2019 with my little morkie, Betsy.

I’ve tried to run before, but always push myself too hard too soon and give up quickly so I’m hoping that by setting a walking challenge I will get into good habits and keep going.

Now thats what I call 500 miles!!

Last year I ran 378 miles, I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, so I have had to learn to slow down. This year its not about time, its me against me, 500 is where I want to be!

Throughout 2019 I aim to walk 1000miles. This can only be done in meaningful steps, so walks to the shop or around town etc will not be counted. This is an aim to improve on the 1000km I walked last year. This can be done by walking an average of just under 20miles every week, but it might not be possible to do in the dark nights.

After being the fat kid all my life, 18 months ago I completed a c25k programme.
Unfortunately life got in the way and I didn’t keep it up. Now I’m back, more unfit and fatter than ever but determined to do it.
The plan is to complete c25k in the next 8 weeks and then in April compete 5-10k and by the end of the year have run my first proper 10k race.
I’ve already signed up for my first two medal challenges to get me motivated.
