I have started this challenge as a new runner who runs on average 2-3km per run every other day to test my persistence and give me the motivation to continue. I'm hoping that throughout the year my runs will get longer.

I want to test myself, and see what I really am made of.

I look forward to completing the challenge and earning this amazing medal.

I think a little about me is required here... I have stage 4 renal failure, I have already had a successful kidney transplant and this has worked for the last 4 years however is declining in function. Therefore I want to achieve as much as I can before I have to go back on dialysis. I have finally found something I really love doing!

It's funny because I would always see runners and think that looks like a lot of hard work and never think of doing it myself. Then one day I tried and I realised I was right! It is a lot of hard work... But it's a lot of fun!

So... After being really unwell I am back out in the cold running my little butt off. I am a little disappointed as I'm having some trouble with Strava not tracking my full run and so my distance is being affected by this. As you can see from the picture my distance is around 35km however I believe I have actually done more like 38-39km this year. But I'm gonna keep trying to fix whatever issue I'm having.

I am super excited about keeping up my running usually I start a fitness regime and give up by the end of January but this feels so different as I'm having so much fun just getting out and it truly is a great healer of the mind also. It gives me time to clear my head. And I completely forgot to post about getting my toy story medal!!

I absolutely love it as I'm a bit of a toy story fan! And I love the fact these medals are so much fun.

Turns out I was more I'll than I thought as I am just getting over the tail end of it now, however February is going to be my month! I'm feeling much better after around 10 days of being really unwell. I literally cannot wait to start running again. I surpassed my target for January but I'm going to obliterate my target for February. I am also looking forward to starting more medal runs throughout the year!!

Haven't been able to run the past few days as have had a terrible fever and been really unwell. However feeling slightly more human today so I am going to get back on it tomorrow. Looking forward to adding more Km to the tally. Currently sitting at 33.9KM for this month. So I have surpassed my monthly target of 30km already. Which is a big deal for me. 🤪🤪 ‏ — feeling blessed

24.9Km down so far. I'm really happy with the progress I'm making now! Running pretty consistently. Legs are like jelly today after strength training yesterday but still managed 4km run this morning. But my god was it cold!! ‏ — feeling great

Haven't ran for four days as I have had another tattoo added to my leg sleeve, however back on it tomorrow now it's healing nicely. I love the fact when I don't run I miss it. 13km so far. Going to try to get to at least 30km by the end of January.

Soooo... I have ran 9.53km out of the 300km planned so far. Feeling achey today as it's a rest day, strength training later ready to run again tomorrow. Feeling very positive about this challenge and my new found passion. ‏ — feeling happy

Hit a new personal best with a run of 3.88km. Which isn't far considering some runners run ultra marathons but for me it was an achievement. 😁
