    Runderful week for me. Went out by myself on Christmas Day intending to do a mile (2 at most), and did a 5k - with no walk breaks. A first for me in a very long time. Then an organised 10k event on Boxing Day (to complete my personal challenge of at least one live 10k every month for the year) which gave me a wonderful piece of bling - and my first 10k in I can't remember how long with no walk breaks. And a PB on Strava for both 5k and 10k (not actually my 10k PB, but Strava only has data from August 2018 onways and my 10k PB dates back to January 2011!! Absolutely no trace I can fidn anywhere of what my 5k PB was, so I'll take the Strava one.)

    After shortening my stride running to work one morning because of icy patches seemed to make things easier I've been trying to keep it short, and it seems to be paying off.

    Definitely not my finest week. I've not covered the mileage I wanted to, not slept well, and not eaten anywhere near anything that could be called a healthy or balance diet. Still, we're through the election now which means no more leaflets suddenly being dropped on us (got in on Monday to a new huge pile, which meant my 4hr20 shift became 9hr 40!) so things can only improve - can't they? One more week at work and then I get my rest week - when I'm going to have to be heading out every day to catch-up shortfall and try and get ahead of the game for the last 2 working days of the year. This IS still within my grasp, and I'm NOT going to let it slip though my fingers this late in the game......

    Another hectic week at work, which was made even longer by running more distance! I'd signed up for a poppy themed monthly challenge with a target of 75 miles - and I self imposed that as running only. On Tuesday evening I realised I was only on 55+, so had almost 20 miles left to go (and still needed to do a 10k distance for another challenge). So I ended up running my commute both ways, with one way on Wed, Thur & Fri being a 5k and home on Sat being a failry slow 10k (the other runs were all between 1 and 1.4 miles).

    Bad (busy) week at work, so not as many miles of running as I'd hoped to do. Slightly down on what I needed to be completing each week to hit target, so I need to do about half a mile extra next week to catch up (would be nice to do more and get ahead of the game a bit).

    Booked a place on a 10k event on Boxing Day. Another personal challenge I set myself for this year was to complete at least one live 10k every month - and I've been looking for a December event that fitted around work and wasn't too far from home. I also didn't want it to clash with meeting up with family over the festivities, so had to hold off until I knew which day we were having the family get-together (now arranged for 28th).

    Ran to or from work every day - although Thursday was part of the route home from the Physio appt I had after work.
    And I actually finished work in time to walk to the Physio rather than catch a bus, which meant I added on some unexpected miles.
    My fella wanted something from a store a few miles from mine today, so we walked there and back instead of taking the car (added on over 7 miles)

    Clocked some decent mileage this week.
    I've done a run every day - either to or from work on 6 days (4 of under 2 miles, 2 of 5k), plus a 10k event today
    Had a physio appt 6 miles from home before work on Thursday. No car to get there, so looked at public transport. Would have to leave house at 6:36am. To walk? By 6:30am. No competition then. So I'd clocked up just over 7 miles before work (the walk there, plus a mile back to the bus route to get to work)

    Week off work. Monday was manic with dental appointment (which I walked out on due to dentist being caught in traffic), eye check, contact lens check and hearing test - plus packing to go away that evening - which meant no mileage clocked up for the challenge.

    The rest of the week (up until a few hours ago) was spent in the Lake District. My son was with me the first two nights, then he came home and my fella joined me. The next day my Mother joined us for two nights. Lots of odd jobs done on and around the property (we help to look after it in return for minimal cost breaks away from home), but I managed to fit a short run in every morning - and my fella and I went for a walk (to get the all important supply of Grasmere Gingerbread) yesterday.

    I restarted C25K this week. Seems crazy when I'm doing 10k events, but I lost the ability to run more than a couple of km without walk breaks when I had some medical issues and took a break from running for almost a year, and I've not managed to improve on it. I'm hoping that this will be the kickstart I need. So I ran to work on Tuesday and Friday, and home from work on Wednesday. That's week 1 officially complete, but I plan to stick to week 1 this week as I donated blood on Saturday afternoon and that always knocks me for a while.

    Absolutley manic work at week - our office has 25 staff, and at this time of year we can have up to 7 off (4 on rest weeks, 3 on leave) - but this week we also had 2 on special leave and 2 off sick..... and then a third went off sick on Fri & Sat! Made for some looooong days I cycled to work on Monday, but left the bike there as I didn't have my lights and it was starting to turn to dusk by the time I left. So I walked home Monday, into work Tuesday, and cycled home Tuesday. I then walked the commute the other 4 days, and today I ran a 10k race I entered at the start of the year, and earned myself this medal

    I've been in the Lake District this week, but the weather hasn't been great We set out to attempt the Fairfield Horseshoe on Tuesday, but got driven back by rain and (mostly) wind before we reached the half-way point. Other than that we just did our regular 'nip over to Grasmere' to get some Gingerbread yesterday, when the weather had fortunately perked up a bit.
