As training for my mighty hike marathon in July I wanted to try and break the 20mile barrier. So yesterday set out to complete a 20 mile walk which ended up being almost 23. Feeling a little bit broken this morning but know I could still go further. And what's another 3 miles when you've already done 23 🤦🏼♀️
Also, I've just worked out that yesterdays walk has taken me to be exactly on target for where I need to be to complete my 1000 miles for the year. 411.6 meaningful miles completed to date. Now just need to keep up the momentum so I dont fall behind target again, need to be always on or above target or I'll be trying to catch up on new years eve!

Been off the radar a bit the last few weeks. Completely wiped out by cold for half of April but still managed to complete 80miles. And not far behind target. Come on May...we can do this
Struggling with life this weekend, woke up yesterday full of cold and spent the whole day on the sofa feeling sorry for myself, topped up with having a lazy week for the beginning of April. Laziness wasn't intentional, work, weather and general life just going by. So decided this morning that no matter how I feel I'd get out and put some miles in. Intention was for two laps of the local park, ended up being three varied laps. Felt amazing to be out and get some fresh air but my lungs are struggling now. Afternoon on the sofa coming my way!!!
And there we have it. March is over and I'm now just 768 miles from my 1000mile target. Less than 15miles behind where I 'should' be for the end of March but hey ho
Hit the 200mile mark today. So happy. Especially as it was May before I'd done anywhere near this distance last year. To be on target for 1000miles I should have completed 246(ish)by the end of March. I'm prepared for that not to happen but I'm proud of myself for achieving as much as I have so far.
Walked to work and back today, just under 6miles each way. Absolutely smashing it at the minute now the days are getting that little bit longer and I've got more time to get out before and after work as well as during the weekend. And every mile I get in is that extra bit of training towards my Macmillan Marathon in July. And a definite improvement on last year too, 9 days left in March and my aim is now to complete more miles in March this year than I did overall for the first four months of 2018. Challenge on!!
Just had a look at my summaries for the year so far, 12 days into March and I'm passed the half way mark for where I finished in February. No reason why I can't improve on February's miles. Going to aim for 80 this month, let's see how this works out 🤔
Well if today's walk has taught me anything it's to check how close I am before finishing. If only id done a lap of the street before pressing stop on my tracker then id have hit 150! Still though, progress is progress.
So, definite progress in the past few weeks and now at 138 miles overall, at this point I'm about 45miles behind target but with the dark nights I'm ok with this because I know I can and will be able to get more miles in once the lighter nights start. Pretty happy with this at the minute.
Personal challenge of 70miles for February....DONE!!! WHOOOOOOOOP!!! And so pleased with the improvement on this time last year. Just another 886.3miles to go.....
