  • Still cant run and walking hurts after a mile..... Now in physio over 10 weeks and had to pull out of reigate half sept and Worthing 10k. Very few virtual anything's done as so deflated and in pain. So annoyed as now all my hard work for this personal challenge is down the drain! Nearly a year since joining up too so a very unhappy hobbler!

  • So I havent posted recently. This is due to I gave up. I decided that running was never meant for me.

However I realised I had got to the point that I was running for Strava. I was running for other people. I was exhausting myself just to prove myself to people I dony even know. I felt I had something to prove as I am not as capable as I used to be.

However after taking some time to re-evaluate. I have decided its okay if i dont want to run. Its okay if i want to run twice in a day. More importantly its okay if I dont achieve my targets. I was beating myself up over something that wasnt that important.

I now run because i enjoy it. Thats it. No more targets. No more pushing myself beyond my capabilities.

However on a lighter note I check my Vo2 max and was pleasently suprised! Not bad for someone with end stage renal failure .

  • Signed up for a couple of Strava challenges to force me out the door, started the week off then signed up for some more only had one run that I hated and I clocked up the ks pretty swiftly, logging a total of 43kms for the week, now don’t get me wrong I’m no Eliud Kipchoge (wasn’t he awesome) and never will be but for me a marathon in a week is a lot and I loved it mostly, I’m definitely falling back in love with running 😁 💕
468km for the year 132km to go

Nothing. Nada. Zip. Trying to rest foot. It's getting better, it's on and off, so am trying a couple of weeks of no running to rest it as much as I can. Driving me crazy though!

Foot still sore, ummed and aahhhed about doing Cardiff and then decided to go for it. Had a lovely morning! The sun shone, my toes, foot, leg, hip, other leg hurt at various intervals but I didn't care about time or pace and probably had my most enjoyable half marathon just soaking up the atmosphere! And once I stopped, my foot didn't hurt for the rest of the day! (But started again on Monday lol!)
    Total distance 13.28 miles
