I Will Get My Wolf Medal!!

Possibly the most eventful run I've ever had.

Eventful 10 miles. Started off fine, legs were aching a bit but I was ignoring that.

First incident: Garmin didn't pick up GPS until I'd done my first Β½k. This I didn't realise until I'd finished.

Second incident: crossing the road, no cars so I didn't press the button. 2 steps into the road and this silver astra comes racing around the corner, sprint over the road!

Third incident: nearly 8k in, everything's going well and I'm happy with my average pace. There's a few puddles so I gingerly make my way through, managing to keep my new, never run outside in, trainers dry. Next puddle, ankle deep. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ See photos, the water is actually over my laces. Decide that multi sport wasn't what I'd been planning and turn around. This has now cost me that decent pace. 1k in 14 minutes paddling.

Fourth incident: Swans. Squelching back the way I'd came, more walking and less running at this point. Nearly 14k in at this point. 3 swans fly overhead, one takes off into the trees but the other 2 land on the only footbridge over the canal, I'm trapped. I am petrified of geese and swans and will not walk or run past them. I don't know what to do, if I go another way it will add an extra half an hour. Luckily after a couple of minutes 4 young knights on shining bicycles come along. I asked them if I could run next to them while they went past the swans and they let me! 3 of them formed a row up front, shooing the swans away while the other rode along forming a barrier between me and the swans. Thank you young men, you are a credit to your parents.

Finally finished my run in 2hrs 20, a good half an hour longer than I'd wanted to. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈStill managed my 10 miles though. πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌβ€‹
