  • What a year it’s been for everybody!
Never did I ever think I would be stopped from attending the gym, or unable to leave the same four walls for two weeks!
Adapting to home workouts with minimal equipment was my first hurdle, and throughout COVID I have managed at least 6 workouts a week, with one rest day mid week!
I usually run two 5kms a week and a longer run on the weekend! Throughout lockdown medalmad kept me motivated for these runs, and most of the runs I’ve done have been for a medal. The sense of achievement after any run, and then achieving the medal through the post, has really helped keep me motivated with my running!
This year I set myself a goal to run a half marathon! I’ve been running for just over two years and really wanted to have a go at achieving this goal. The start of lockdown I completed my first half marathon, and I thought to myself nearer the end of the year I’m going to try again. Few weeks ago I completed another Half Marathon! So happy with how much I ran compared with my first attempt!
Two years ago my asthma was not controlled, and I wouldn’t of even thought of running further than one road! Running has helped me with my asthma, and although I still suffer when the weather changes, a run believe it not usually helps clear the symptoms up! I also suffer from tendinitis in my legs and hips, which sometimes means I struggle walking, and on these days running isn’t a good idea. Sometimes I find listening to my body hard, when all you want to do is achieve!
The last two weeks have been tough for me self isolating, and to think I missed out on two longer runs with medalmad really upset me. Thankfully I contacted the team, and I am still able to complete these when self isolation is up!
Today is the day I can get back to running! I can’t wait to get out and achieve my November and December medals!
Happy running everyone! Stay safe! ❤️
