Heyyou guys…. Cheers!

So Craig has already asked our horse Hercules to write a Medalmad guest blog, so it's only fair that his wife gets to do one now.

I'm Melissa, 'trouble and strife' of Craig - your usual blogger. The first reason I wanted to write this blog was firstly because Craig bought me the 'Hey you Guys' 10K Medalmad Challenge for my Birthday, and the second reason, because The Goonies is my most favourite film of all time!

We decided to go away to celebrate my birthday, so we completed the challenge in lovely Valencia, Spain. For those who've not been lucky enough to visit, it really is a hidden treasure. It had everything we wanted.Firstly of course, excellent flat running, but also great history, sightseeing, shopping, amazing (and cheap) places to eat and drink, plus its within easy reach from the airport, simple to get around, and has a lovely sandy Beach!

Don't worry, I'll get back to the running now, as you probably want to read a running blog, not a travel blog!

So we covered our 10K Challenge along the 'Turia Gardens'. A completely flat route through the centre of the city where a river once ran through, now a wonderful, scenic running, walking and cycling route of about 10K from one end to the other (lined with the most gorgeous Valencian Orange Trees).

We happily 'truffle shuffled' along, fuelled on Tapas, stopping for café-con-leche at the half way point and of course a cold Cerveza at the end. (We were having such a lovely time; we actually covered more than 25K on that lovely warm, sunny run).

Now that's my kind of running!
