Fees and Payments Policy

1. Types of Fees

Sellers may be required to pay the following types of fees. Please note that all fees are listed exclusive of any value-added tax (VAT) or similar taxes that may apply. See the Taxes section below for further details. It’s important to note that all service fees, including prepaid fees, are non-refundable.

Listing Fees

There are not listing fees for any challenge or product on Motivation.Me

Transaction Fees

When you make a sale through Motivation.Me, you will be charged a transaction fee of 12% for challenge products and 5% for non-challenge products of the price you display for each listing plus the amount you charge for delivery.

If you sell from the US, the transaction fee will not apply to sales tax. If you sell from anywhere other than the US, the transaction fee will apply to the listing price (which should include any applicable taxes that you as a seller are responsible for) and postage.

See the Taxes section below for more information about whether you are required to include applicable taxes in your listing prices.

Transaction fees are deducted from your current balance as each sale occurs, and are reflected in your payment account.

Advertising and Promotional Fees

Motivation.Me offers multiple services to help you advertise your listings and promote your shop, including Motivation.Me Ads. You can set the days you wish to promote your product on our site. This is paid in advance of the promotion. Please go to your organiser dashboard to see the options for Ads.

Payment Processing Fees

Payment processing fees are charged for each transaction made through our payment processors, Stripe and PayPal. Payment processing fees vary based on the location of your bank account. In certain markets, a fixed deposit fee may be charged for the disbursement of seller funds that are under certain designated thresholds.

The payment processing fee is assessed on the total amount of the sale, including tax and postage. Payment processing fees are deducted from the sale amount in your payment account. Deposit fees are deducted from your Available Funds and reflected in your payment account at the time of your scheduled deposit.

Payment Accounts. A payment account is a notional ledger that allows sellers to track payment amounts, refunds, and fees related to transactions and seller services. Sellers must provide accurate personal information as requested during registration, and are responsible for maintaining and updating that information as necessary. Sellers will not impersonate any person or use any name they are not legally authorised to use. Sellers authorise us, and authorised agents, to verify their information (at registration and on occasion when using the Services) by accessing public records and obtaining credit reports about the sellers. Motivation.Me verifies sellers’ information in order to safeguard the integrity of the marketplace and reduce the risk of fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, and the violation of trade sanctions.

Refunds. Refunds or adjustments paid by Motivation.Me to buyers for payments made through the site may be initiated using the refund functionality in the seller’s payment account for a period of 180 days after the purchase was made. The Motivation.Me Payments Platform does not have refund functionality after 180 days from the original purchase date. Any such funds paid by Motivation.Me to cover refunds will be deducted from the seller’s payment account balance. If there are insufficient funds to cover the amount of the refund, the balance will be charged to the seller’s card on file or added to the seller’s payment account. Refunds issued by Motivation.Me will be in the original form of payment, and if such payment is not available, an Motivation.Me credit will be issued.

2. Delivery

Sellers are responsible for packaging and delivering their sold items to buyers. If you’re using a delivery or fulfilment service, please keep in mind that you are ultimately responsible for making sure that your buyers receive their orders.

By selling on Motivation.Me, you agree to:

A. Provide an accurate “dispatched from” address.
B. Specify your postage costs and times in your listings.
C. Dispatch items promptly after they are sold. Prompt delivery means that you dispatch each item within 30 days of purchase or completion of challenge, unless you specify otherwise in your processing time or agree to a different delivery period with the buyer through messages. Before you update your processing time for a specific order, you must first obtain your buyer’s consent.
D. Comply with all local and international delivery and customs regulations.
E. Dispatch to the address listed on the purchase invoice.
F. Mark the order as dispatched when you dispatch it. Remember that you may only mark an order as dispatched after you actually have dispatched it. When you mark an order as dispatched, the buyer will receive a notification.

In the unlikely event an order does not arrive, be prepared to provide valid proof of dispatch. Valid proof of dispatch must show that the item actually was dispatched and that it was sent to the address provided by the buyer. If a buyer does not receive their order, they may file a case against your shop.

But don’t worry, Motivation.Me offers support for sellers where we feel they have acted with full honesty and integrity.

3. Postage

Sellers are responsible for the shipping the items purchased by the seller via their chosen shipping method. We are happy to advise and offer guidance. We also offer the option to ship direct to buyers from our warehouse. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss further either of these.

Currency Conversion

With the exception of the transaction fee, Offsite Ads fees, the Payment Processing fee, Regulatory Operating fees, and deposit fees, Etsy converts fees from USD to your payment account currency at the market rate at the time the fee is reflected in your payment account. All fees appear in your payment account in your domestic currency. However, Etsy Payments users located in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania will have all fees deducted from their payment account in their designated payment account currency, the Euro.

Transaction fees, Offsite Ads fees, Regulatory Operating fees: If you list your items in a currency other than that of your payment account, the transaction fee and, where applicable, the Offsite Ads fee and Regulatory Operating fee will be converted to your payment account currency at the market rate and reflected in your payment account.

To avoid incurring foreign exchange charges on your sales, Etsy recommends you list your items in the same currency as your payment account currency. Buyers see the items in the currency of their choosing. As an Etsy Payments user, if you decide to list in a currency other than that of your payment account, you will be charged a 2.5% currency conversion fee on the sale amount to send funds to your payment account. Learn more about currency conversion here. Currency conversion is handled automatically by our payment processing service and further described in our Etsy Payments Policy.

4. Paying your Motivation.Me Fees and Commissions

Motivation.Me will automatically deduct all fees owed from your payment account. Provided you have sufficient funds in your payment account no further payment action is required. If your payment account does not contain sufficient funds you are responsible for paying any fees owed in full within 15 days of the date of your monthly statement, or the account will be considered past due, and Motivation.Me may charge your card on file or take other actions to collect funds. If you make a sale while you have an outstanding balance the net sale amount will be applied to your outstanding balance. You may pay your outstanding balance manually by credit card, debit card, or PayPal.

Your statement is available in your Organiser Dashboard at the beginning of each month, and will detail all sales and fees activity from the preceding month.

Motivation.Me may suspend your selling privileges at any time pending payment of your outstanding balance.

5. Taxes

Aside from the limited circumstances set out below, you are responsible for collecting and paying any taxes associated with using and making sales through Motivations Me’s services.

For purposes of these Terms, please note that while some countries may refer to VAT using other terms, e.g., Goods and Services Tax (“GST”) or Harmonised Sales Tax (“HST”), we’ll just refer to VAT, GST, HST and any local sales taxes collectively as “VAT” unless the context requires otherwise.
