The Route
You start in the state of Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende is a colorful town in the highlands of Mexico. You then head to Mixquic Mexico, Mexico City. About 1.5 hours south of Mexico City, Mixquic Mexico is one of the most authentic and best places to celebrate Day of the Dead in Mexico. Your final destination is Isla Janitzio Island, one of the quintessential places for an authentic Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico.
